SONIC COMBAT

COMBAT DISCUSSION

I had a chance to maiden the stock ParkZone Focke Wulf yesterday at the field. She definitely needs some mods to make her perform like she needs too. I have a brushless motor but the KV rating is high, like 2800 or something. The stock motor is a 480 watt brushed witch goes through a gear box and out to an 11x8 prop. There is no way my brushless can spin this prop without a gear box. Any ideas if I would be better off running a direct drive with an 11x4?, or maybe even less pitch, vs. the gear box

I have most of the mods finished on my focke wulf. New outrunner brushless motor with CC ESC and Specktrum RX. My AirCommander is installed and seems to be operation like a champ. The only thing left is to finish mounting the Sonic Combat Module.
BuckshotRC...What problems are you having with your AirCommander? Initially I thought I had a problem with mine because I couldnt program my ESC with the AirCommander hooked up. This was because when you power up with the throttle at max, it doesnt pass the signal on to the ESC until you "officially" start a game. So I removed the AirCommander, programmed the ESC, then hooked everything back up. Now it is working great. Don't forget to start at minimum throttle, then go to max throttle and back to minimum, this starts a game and allows the ESC to operate.

I have mine triggering off of my rudder channel. If I give right rudder it fires my "guns". I haven’t tried any other way.
Today I should be completing range checks of my modified sonic module. How do you post pics on this forum? I tried, but it says it has to be 100 pixels by 100 pixels...I cant get the pic that small without ruining the image.

My project is top secret and I had to blur out all the important stuff...

I was able to resize the pic to less than 100x100 and its a bit grainy but perfectly clear until I uploaded it to the site.???

Yesterday I range checked my sonic system after all the mods and the distance for transmitting and receiving a hit was within six inches of a stock unmodified unit. The system is a go and I should be wrapping everything up today.
