Hi Joe,
I tried to go to the forum but couldn't figure out how to post this,
maybe you can help me with this.
I have wanted to be able to put a model together from a kit to learn
the tradition of building something to fly. I think the reward of
building something and seeing it fly would give rewards that would be
hard to describe.
I have bought a Great Planes J-3 Piper Cub kit that I would like to
finish as a L-4 Grasshopper Reconnaissance aircraft of the world war 2
era. This is my first kit project. I entered this hobby because of my
interest in R/C flying and the ultimate goal of flying large scale
warbirds. I also want to develop the skills of being able to take a set
of plans and put them in the air.
What I need is: Somebody with an infinite amount of patience and the
willingness to teach somebody that has a full schedule not only with
flying R/C but also with other commitments. I expect this project to
take more than one year to complete.
What I offer in return: I will cover all expenses including travel to
my workshop or if work is done at mentor's workshop, any space rental
they may want. I would prefer work done at my place in which fuel costs
would be covered by me. We would consult on the warbirds world war 2
finish to a mutual agreement. They would have the right to share flying
rights anytime said model was at the field and share in any credit,
taking first credit. All costs would be covered by me. If the aircraft
is destroyed while the associate builder is flying it, said person will
not be held liable for any expenses incurred to owner.
In other words, for somebody to take the time to help me learn how to
build a flying model from a kit or from scratch, I would be extremely
grateful. I do not expect anybody to take their time to spend on me for
nothing so I am willing for them to fly the model with equal rights and
no responsibility for lose.
I would be grateful with help in this. If you know somebody that might
be interested, please help. I'm not in a hurry to put this thing in the
air but when I do, I'd like for it to be something that gets noticed
and we can take pride in.
Thanks,
John Gibson
