Dragonfly

Yesterday I was given a foamie electric dragonfly ornithopter. This thing is a hoot!

The are available at Walmart for $25 while supply lasts. 26 Mhz radio charges the lithium battery in the machine like the mini electric helicopters. Since they are RF, they can be flown outdoors in light wind. I just flew mine and it goes well. Full power on the left stick makes it climb - and stall. A bit of reduced power and it flies level. Right and left control is via the right stick which controls a small tail rotor - again like the mini electric foam helicopters. One charge, via the transmitter, gives about 5 minutes of flight.

This thing flies much better than the mini helicopters and is large enough to see. I have not been able to fly it in my living room as it the turn radius is just a bit too big. Lots of fun!
